You know it is that time of year again? You may be in serious need of a maid, but what if she can’t get past the clutter? Just over a year ago we chose to downsize our house 1,000 sq. ft.! Is it perfect? No, but much more manageable and enjoyable for quality family time. It is called purging crud!!!! And for the record, neither my house nor Leaf’s house is a showplace, we live there with our families. However, our houses are manageable because we don’t keep a ton of junk! Give us a chance and we get can you on the road to having a house that isn’t overwhelming! Our last client said that we “work magic.” We would have to agree!

I confess, I am recovering from a major surgery and have spent the recent days watching TV. As a professional organizer (who stall hasn’t joined any associations), I am hooked on one show - Clean House! We, at This Mess is a House are just your basic common sense, hard working and thinking organizers. We don’t bring in teams and we don’t clean. Anyhoo, today I felt compelled to write to them. Let’s talk Christmas notebooks. Yours truly keeps a 3 ring binder for Christmas. It is divided into several sections: Incoming cards 2007, outgoing cards 2007, incoming gifts 2007, outgoing gifts 2007. I also keep a special section of Christmas card pictures I receive. Also, 3 ring page protectors work wonderfuly for craft items you may want to make for next year.
